In Midnight Season 2, it remains possible to upgrade a fully leveled (6/6) Myth item from item level 334 to 344 after completing the introductory quest and obtaining special Ascendancy materials.
Fastest Way to Gear Up in Midnight Season 2
The fastest way to gear up in Midnight Season 2 is to repeatedly run content, gradually progressing after reaching the minimum required item level for the next tier of activities with upgraded gear.

Great Vault Gearing in Midnight Season 2
In Midnight Season 2, the Great Vault serves as a secondary source of gear; it does not provide items immediately upon filling its slots – offering them only after the weekly reset – and allows you to claim just one item. The Great Vault is divided into three activity categories; by completing a certain number of them, you fill a slot with an item from the reward pool of that encounter:

Items in each activity row will be randomly selected from the reward pools of the specific encounters you have completed. For example, if you have completed 2 Mythic+ 10 runs of Murder Row and Altar of Fangs, you can expect a random Myth-tier item from the reward tables of those instances.
Midnight Season 2 Crafted Gear
In addition to obtaining gear by completing activities and the weekly Great Vault, you can craft items with the specific stats and item level you want – either yourself or by placing crafting orders with other players. Crafted items can feature a set bonus, activated upon equipping two items, as well as properties determined by the embellishments used during crafting.
Crafting the item itself requires crests of a specific tier to achieve the desired slot item level, as well as 1-2 Sparks, which are subject to a weekly cap. You can obtain the first Spark for free after completing the Catalyst introductory quest, while subsequent ones must be farmed weekly by completing dungeons, raids, or world events.
Raid Tier Sets in Midnight Season 2
By completing raids in Midnight Season 2, you can obtain tier set tokens; opening them grants you a set piece for your class. Like non-set gear, this equipment can be upgraded, but it additionally provides ability bonuses based on whether you have two or four pieces equipped. You can also obtain specific pieces of gear using the Slumbering Coil Curio, which drops from the final raid boss on all difficulty levels. Tier set pieces often feature in endgame builds alongside BiS items, making them highly sought-after and competitive to acquire. Midnight Season 2 Catalyst Overview
In addition to raids, you can obtain set pieces by converting your existing gear in the Catalyst. You can convert any piece of armor—including the cloak—but it will not count toward the set bonus. Each conversion requires Crystallized Venomblight Manaflux, which can be obtained once per week by completing Mythic dungeons, raids, and Bountiful Delves.
Additionally, one Crystallized Venomblight Manaflux will be awarded upon completing the Midnight Season 2: Serpent Scion achievement, regardless of whether or not you have reached the weekly resource cap.
How to Gear Up for PvP in Midnight Season 2
Unlike PvE gear, the item level of PvP gear cannot be upgraded; furthermore, it functions properly exclusively in Arenas, Battlegrounds, and War Mode, with its level being scaled down outside of these activities. Each following tier of PvP gear can be purchased from vendors or obtained as a reward for winning matches.

By farming unrated Arenas and Battlegrounds, you can accumulate the currency needed to purchase a full set, allowing you to jump into rated matches. Additionally, playing PvP lets you obtain Venomous Gladiator’s Heraldry, a key material for crafting gear. Overall, for a comfortable experience, you should aim to have at least three crafted pieces, a Conquest weapon, and a full tier set – which can be obtained by converting armor in the Catalyst.
List of BiS Gear in WoW Midnight Season 2
The foundation of any endgame build is a completed tier set consisting of at least four pieces. The specific slots vary by class, as different items within the same set offer different stats and, consequently, have their own priority. BiS items are primarily obtained through raid runs and Mythic+ dungeons. You can also acquire the top-tier item best suited for your specialization from the Great Vault, provided you focus on running only those instances that include it in their reward pool.
How to Upgrade Gear in WoW Midnight S2
To upgrade an item’s level in Midnight Season 2, you will need Mistcrest gear corresponding to the specific tier. Below, you can see which crests are required to upgrade items for a given gear track and where to obtain them:
- Adventurer Mistcrest (ilvl 266-282): Repeatable outdoor events, tier 4 Delves, Heroic difficulty dungeons;
- Veteran Mistcrest (ilvl 279-295): Heroic seasonal dungeons, Raid Finder difficulty raids, tiers 5-6 Delves;
- Champion Mistcrest (ilvl 292-308): Mythic+ dungeons (from 2 to 3 key levels), Normal difficulty raids, tiers 7-10 Delves;
- Hero Mistcrest (ilvl 305-321): Heroic difficulty raids, Mythic+ dungeons (from 4 to 8 key levels);
- Myth Mistcrest (ilvl 318-334): Mythic difficulty raids, Mythic+ dungeons from 9+ and higher.
There is a weekly cap of 100 on the Mistcrests you can earn. Plan your upgrades wisely – especially for high-tier items – and avoid spending all your crests to buff a single slot if you have other slots that haven’t been upgraded yet. Each upgrade costs 10 more currency than the previous one, and upgrade costs are the same for each gear track. You can see this clearly in the list below:

Additionally, you can upgrade a Myth 6/6 item to ilvl 344 using Venomstones, which can be obtained from M+ 10+ dungeons, Tier 11 Delves, and Heroic and Mythic raids starting in Week 8 of the season.
In addition to upgrading item levels in Midnight Season 2, you can also apply various enchantments and insert gems – providing the bonus stats you need – into the item’s available slots. The enchantment strength and stats numbers depend on the tier of the item used for upgrading, where 1 is the weakest and 3 is the strongest.
